Video Transcript for Air Lift Union T-Piece Review

Today we're gonna be taking a look at Air Lift's Union T-piece for quarter-inch air lines. And there are two main reasons you may want this unit when installing airbags. You can use it when installing a compressor to tee off and give yourself a manual inflation valve or like we're using it here on this truck to take the left and right side airbags and bring them into one so we can fILL them up simultaneously. We've got ours installed here so our inflation valve is coming out the center of the tee and the two coming off the sides go to both our left and our right side airbags. You may prefer this setup if you just want to quickly air up your airbags simultaneously. Now, you are going to lose the ability to air the up independently from side to side. That's gonna be important if you're trying to adjust for uneven loads.

You may want them to be different on one or the other. But if you're not really using it for uneven load purposes, this is going to make airing them up and deflating them much quicker if you're constantly hooking up and removing the same trailer over and over that doesn't need left and right load leveling. On our Air Lift compressor systems, it already comes with one T-fitting to allow it to air out both bags simultaneously, but if you want to add a manual inflation valve to it, you'll need a second T-fitting here. This can be installed anywhere between your air compressor and airbags in line on any of these quarter-inch airline hoses that's gonna be run. You just simply place it in between and have the center one go out to your manual inflation valve. Now, we'll show you how you connect and disconnect airlines form this fitting. It's a click-connect fitting, so you simply just push them in.

But to release them, the end here actually slides inward, and I'm using a eight millimeter wrench to do this. You just need something that'll push in on both sides. So, it pushes that in evenly and that'll allow it to release, and the hose just simply slides out. To put it in, you simply just push it in. And I like to kind of push it in and pull out a few times to make sure it's fully seated.

And as you can see here, if I'm not pressing in on that collar there at the end, I cannot pull this out. It automatically locks itself in place. And that completes our look at Air Lift's Union T-piece for quarter-inch airlines.

@Vincent Perfect! You want to leave at least 5 psi in the bags at all times....

by:

I installed this system on a buddy’s truck about a year ago for towing his travel trailer and he loved it. So when I got my 2023 F150 I knew that I would eventually want a set. That time came as soon as I put my 1500lb golf cart in the back!
System was super easy to install. However I suggest removing the rear wheels. Made the job so much easier. I went with a T for the air lines so that I could utilize easy, balance bag fill and empty. There’s already a hole in the license pocket of the rear bumper in a great location so all I had to do is drill through the plastic cover. Pictures are with 70 psi in the bags.

by:

Easy to install, directions were spot on. Just installed them so can't give the product a fair review. I installed ot with a t so both airbags have the same air pressure, I'm not dealing with uneven loads so I thought this would be the better way of doing it for me. I had some extra wire harness tubing left over so I user it for my air line to give it some extra protection

by:

Cannot be beat for the value and performance-
Towing
a 7K lb boat with Independent suspension on the Toyota Sequoiq, this eliminated the sag and actually rides better inflated even without the trailer weight. Installation is easy and straight forward. Jack the vehicle up and use zip ties to make the bags smaller and tighter to slide inbetween the springs, then cut ties!

Everything I have ordered from e-trailer has been very good quality and I have been happy with everything.
The staff that answers the phone is very knowledgeable and hang with you until you get exactly what you want.

by:

I just want to say that e-trailer is very easy to deal with I appreciate the fact they get right on the products that are ordered and have them shipped out as soon as possible. Also a few months back I had an issue with a break assembly that was shipped out and they had the new brake assembly sent out to me within three to four days. I will continue to use etrailer to purchase parts from for my RV repair business. Thanks again and I definitely highly recommend using a trailer.

by:

Excellent service and super fast shipping. Etrailer is awesome to deal with! Very good quality but didn’t use yet. Plan on adding second air port for when truck camper is on.

Works well. Did not install duel valves to fill each side individually. Looking back may install fill valve for each side.

Work amazing. I pull a trailer every day for work. Big difference with these airbags installed. Rides a lot better.

by:

I’ve owned these air bags before on previous pickups and will not go with out firestone bags on any pickup I own. This set is for my new Chevy pickup.

by:

Product seems to work well so far. All parts and hardware were there in box which is always a plus. Only issue I had was, the left side upper bracket was a pain between the lines running down the frame and the Goosenck hitch. It said it worked with Gooseneck Hitch....but not that easy. I have a B&W gooseneck hitch already on my 2016 F250. It worked, but without removing the hitch and starting over with air bags first, getting the nut on the upper left mount was a pain because it has to go between the frame and the side plate for the hitch (no hole in side plate and about 1/2 -3/4 inch clearance for nut to go in on bolt near top of frame rail. Kindof same issue on right side, didnt use the 3/4" treaded frame insert that came with it, I just used a longer bolt and ran through both the mounting bracket, frame , and side plate for hitch, still using the spacer that came with hitch that had to be used between the frame and the hitch side plate. You can figure it out, just more of a pain than thought it would be. Will say their air fittings seem high quality and the send plenty of airline hose. The issues with the system installation with a gooseneck hitch in is the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars.

by:

Over all a good product. Instructions were a little confusing at first but worked out ok.

by:

It arrived earlier than expected. I opened the box and all looks good. The quality of the system looks very good. I'm happy I ordered the "T" it will make installation earsier and more secure. Thank you Etrailer

by:

Great costumer service. Easy install. Levels out the pickup and rides perfectly. Chevy Silverado 3.0 Duramax. Airstream 35’ 6500 lbs.

by:

Thank you Quinn for all the help. I did in fact install the Schroeder valve in the fuel cap , and it works great! The bags installed in about an hour , and all worked great , thanks again! Rhett

by:

It’s a airline T

by:

Package was open in the box but all the parts were in the box.

by:

great service, better than Amazon, will try to order everything i can from etrailer

by:

Prompt delivery. Instructions were excellent. Easy install.

by:

Works as advertised. Been in service on my truck for a year without any leaks or issues.

by:

This kit was excellent. It dramatically increased the safety and stability while towing a heavier trailer. Follow the instructions carefully. I had a muffler blow a hole out and "cook" one of the bags which caused a leak. Not the products fault, so I bought a replacement bag at a dealer while out on the road and was able to get going quickly. If used as intended and protected as instructed, this kit will serve you very well.

by:

Very quick delivery. Installation instructions are very detailed and looks like a quality product. Well done.

by:

Worked great. Used the tee to tie the two bags together air wise. Put this on my niece’s 2017 tundra and would never see a load that was not evenly distributed so connected the two bags to make it easier for her.

by:

Upon unboxing, I'm highly satisfied. Looking forward to installing. Will follow up once complete. I had to call etrailer because the box was damaged and there were 3 parts missing from the box. I'm blaming the shipping company. Following my call with etrailer, the Rep made it right and got the missing parts in the mail the same day. I can say, etrailer makes everything right. Great service and I highly recommend etrailer to everyone.

by:

Everything came as shipped and came fast. Parts are high quality and fit as specified. All (4) of the 1-1/2 screws were too short and barely reached through the lower brackets (another 1/4" would be nice). Combined with the fact that there were also several things in the way when trying to put the nuts on to mount the lower bracket (2022 Silverado LTD) it turned the job into a much longer job. Success however was achieved. Haven't tested it with a load yet but when I aired them up to test for leaks it lifted the tail a lot.

  • Will the Air Lift Air Bags for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Work With 1 Inch Lift Block
The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs part # AL88204 which is a fit for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 will work with a 1" lift block in the rear and you won't have to install any spacers either since the lift is so little. In regards to installation you can indeed run both air bags to a single inflation value with the Air Lift Union T-Piece part # AL21838. The helper springs should not need to be removed based on what I can see but that may change when you mock up the air bags.

The minimum is 5 psi and the maximum is 100 psi so you have quite a bit of room to play with over the 50 psi you're at now. As a general rule, air helper springs will support approximately 40 lbs of load for each psi of inflation pressure per pair. At 50 psi you have 2,000 lbs of additional...
